The Arts at Woodward
“For Art establishes the basic human truth, which must serve as the touchstone of our judgment."
— John F. Kennedy, Jr. in a speech honoring Robert Frost at Amherst College in October, 1963.
At Woodward, arts education is an essential component of the core curriculum, acknowledging the positive effects on thinking and academic performance of students who engage regularly in learning and expression through the arts. Making, practicing,  performing, viewing, or otherwise experiencing art, music, theater, dance, and all manner of creative expression can have a profound impact upon the human mind and spirit. Woodward's arts programs combine rigorous intruction and training with engaged creative work and personal reflection.
