Bob Giordano has dedicated nearly three decades to leading Woodward’s athletic department, where his coaching prowess has propelled numerous sports teams to championship success. A firm believer in mastering the fundamentals, Coach Giordano is renowned for his ability to simplify complex skills, instilling confidence, and poise in student-athletes over time. Many of Coach Giordano’s former players have continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level, all enriched with enhanced leadership skills and self-assurance from their time under his mentorship.

A veteran of the profession, Coach Giordano often shares his mantra with students: "Coaching is a profession of love. You can’t coach a team unless you love them." His philosophy emphasizes qualities that transcend talent, advocating for punctuality, effort, positivity, passion, and coachability among others. Rooted in his early experiences in the US Air Force and decades of coaching, Coach G. embodies an old-school perspective that values discipline, hard work, and making a lasting impact on young lives.

Coach Giordano’s influence extends beyond the playing field; his former players frequently return to reconnect and reminisce about their experiences under his guidance. Championships seem synonymous with Coach G.’s tenure, evidenced by numerous accolades including multiple Independent Girls Conference titles in softball, basketball and soccer championships in the Independent Girls Conference and the Girls Independent League.
