International Students at Woodward
The Woodward School is a college preparatory day school for girls in grades 6 through 12, located in Quincy, Massachusetts, just 10 miles from the center of Boston. Students come to Woodward from Quincy, Boston, and approximately 20 surrounding communities. Each year, Woodward welcomes about 10 percent of our student body from around the world. Woodward provides excellent English language and academic training to enable our international students to excel in Woodward's rigorous college preparatory program, and to prepare them for application and success at colleges and universities in the United States and around the world.
The Woodward School is a SEVIS certified school, authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant status students. Since 1993, Woodward has enrolled and educated students from Asia, Europe, South America, and Canada.
Woodward is a day school and does not provide housing for international students. Our students either arrange housing and temporary guardianship through an agent or through friends or family.
International Student Tuition and Fees
Tuition for the 2018-19 academic year for international students is $23,729, plus an activity fee of $275 and a Technology Fee of $250.
Step #1 - Complete inquiry form To begin application
Please start the application process by filling out an inquiry form linked below. Upon submission of this form, prospective students will receive an email with an individual user ID and password for access to the online application, which will be linked in the email. The application deadline is January 31, 2018. Applications will be accepted after this date, in the order submitted, where seats are available.
Once you have received the email containing your login credentials you may access the online application in the confirmation email, or by clicking the Application button below.
Step #2 - Testing: Toefl and ssat
The TOEFL Exam is required for all our future international students whose first language is not English. Please register for the test through the TOEFL website and send results to Woodward by using school code B357.
High school applicants should also complete the SSAT and submit results using school code 8310. The SSAT is a standardized test for students seeking to enroll in an independent school. "The SSAT measures the basic verbal, math, and reading skills students need for successful performance in independent schools." (SSAT.org)
Step #3 - Submit Transcripts and Recommendations
1. Please send three years of academic transcripts via email to: email@example.com or by fax: 617-770-1551
2. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request recommendation forms to distribute to your English and Math teachers, and your Principal or Guidance Counselor. After receipt and completion of these forms, your recommenders should return these by confidential email to email@example.com or mail to: The Woodward School, 1102 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
Step #4 - Interview
All international students must complete an interview with an admissions representative in person or via video conference. The admissions office will contact each applicant to schedule an interview once the application has been submitted.
Step #5 - Student Visa Information
The Woodward School is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant students. Woodward will issue an I20 to students who are admitted and enrolled at Woodward. Students seeking an F-1 Visa must provide: health and immunization records, a passport bio page photo, guardianship and homestay information, and financial documentation with evidence of sufficient financial support for your stay.
Once all documents are received, we will make every effort to inform you of your admissions status via email within ten (10) days.
